"Class of 1959"
Dickie Marie Allen Hulsey
Obituary for Mrs. Dickie Allen Hulsey
Mrs. Dickie Allen Husley, age 71, passed away July 26, 2014. Her last years were complicated by dementia, probably of the Alzheimer’s-type, and Inclusion-body Myositis, an incurable muscle-wasting disease. No matter the complication, she persevered and lived as fully as possible. Born September 7, 1942, in Point Pleasant, WV, Dickie was the third of five daughters born to Dick and Mary Easton Allen. Her faith was always an important part of her life. She graduated from Charleston Catholic High in 1959, was a novice at the convent of the Sisters of St. Francis, Stella Niagara, in Buffalo, NY, and thereafter graduated from the College of Saint Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican) in 1964. After marrying Bob Richardson in 1965, she began her true vocation as a mother, giving birth to children, Mark, Clay, and Robanne, to whom she devoted the rest of her life. After her divorce in 1978, Dickie married Bob Hulsey in 1983, a union that lasted 31 ˝ years.
She was a skilled artist, painting mostly in oils. She also enjoyed interior design and greatly
amused her children and grandchildren with her unique collection of myriad miniature chairs
all styles and periods which were scattered about the house.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; sons, Mark (Reed) Richardson; Clay Richardson; daughter, Robanne (Troy) Schulman; grandchildren, Mac, Kate, Kennedy and Easton Rose; sisters, Nancy Allen, Jeannie Allen, Susan (Chris) McCool, Barbara (Tom) Gilleylen.
